AI for Trustees

A clear, non-technical introduction to AI for charity Trustees, covering opportunities, risks, governance duties and board-level decisions.

This practical course introduces Trustees to artificial intelligence (AI) in a clear, non-technical way. It will explore what AI is, how it is already used across the charity sector, and the opportunities and risks it presents such as data protection, bias, accountability and reputational risk, and how these relate to Charity Commission expectations around oversight and decision‑making. The session will then outline practical steps Boards can take to assess and mitigate AI‑related risks, ask the right questions of their senior teams and suppliers, and begin to incorporate AI considerations into strategy, policies and organisational risk registers.
