Could you be a treasurer?

You don't necessarily need to be an accountant.

We’re looking for people who are working (or have worked) in a finance-related role, with a few hours each month to spare and a desire to contribute to a VCSE organisation within Gloucestershire.

Lots of charities in Gloucestershire are struggling to recruit treasurers at the moment, so if the responsibilities listed below sound like something you could do, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Being a treasurer generally involves:

  • making sure the charity keeps proper accounts

  • reviewing the charity’s financial performance

  • drawing up or reviewing policies for finance and investment

  • ensuring that the charity has robust and effective financial controls in place

  • liaising with finance staff and with the charity’s independent examiner or auditor

  • reporting on financial matters to the members, in a membership charity

Please e-mail info@glosalliance.org.uk if you’d like to find out more.
