Join us for A Million Acts of Hope Week of Action

Hundreds of other charities, communities and faith groups have come together to launch A Million Acts of Hope - a campaign to bring hope out into the open.

A Million Acts of Hope is a national invitation to celebrate the everyday acts of kindness, care and connection happening across the UK. At a time when division can feel loud, we want to bring together all these everyday acts of hope and shine a light on the people and communities making them happen. The A Million Acts of Hope Week of Action will take place 13-20 May.

Most people want to live in strong, healthy, caring communities where everyone feels they belong. A Million Acts of Hope is about making that visible and bringing people from all backgrounds, and all walks of life, together.

Between 13 and 20 May 2026, our Go Volunteer Glos team will be focusing on “A Million Acts of Hope” - connecting Gloucestershire residents who would like to take part in the campaign with organisations able to benefit from their help.

Your organisation can take part in 3 ways:

  1. List short (1-2 hours), one-off volunteering opportunities (such as leafleting, property maintenance, donations etc) for 13th - 20th May 2026 on Go Volunteer Glos with the tag “Act of Hope”. You can watch our video about how to create Act of Hope opportunities below

  2. Arrange for your team to take part in an Act of Hope! Make sure you tag #1mActsOfHope and #GoVolunteerGlos so that we can promote your posts and spread the word

  3. Sign the UK’s biggest ever thank you card to all the volunteers who make our communities better places to live: A Million Acts of Hope
