Proposal: The role of the VCSE sector in NHS strategic commissioning

Gloucestershire VCSE Strategic Partnership and Integrated Locality Partnership representatives have been working together with BNSSG (Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire) colleagues to shape a proposal for the role of the VCSE sector in the implementation of the NHS Strategic Commissioning Framework.

While commissioning approaches currently differ across Gloucestershire and BNSSG, these discussions have strengthened partnership working across the wider footprint and clarified local priorities. Although it has not been possible at this stage to develop a single VCSE proposal, we remain closely aligned and committed to continued collaboration through a shared joint statement. Proposals have been presented to Shane Devlin (Integrated Care Board CEO), and discussions are now progressing to agree initial priorities for collaboration.
