The Big Conversation on Care
The Big Conversation on Care is a chance for everyone in England to have their say on the future of adult social care. It is part of the work being undertaken by The Independent Commission on Adult Social Care, led by Baroness Louise Casey.
It will run in two phases. The first phase of the conversation, from July to November, will ask people about the values and principles we should all expect from a care system and who should be eligible for support. The second will focus on how care should be funded and how reform should be delivered.
One in seven people aged 65 will face lifetime care costs of over £100,000. Meanwhile, 33% of people believe that social care services are generally free at the point of need.
