What is microvolunteering?

Microvolunteering is the undertaking of small, often one-off tasks which can usually be performed anywhere.

It's for everyone, no matter how much time they can give or where they live, and the idea is that many small acts together can have a big impact.

Microvolunteering can be a brilliant way for people with mobility challenges (who might be unable to undertake in-person volunteer activities) to experience some of the many benefits of volunteering.

Examples of microvolunteer activities:

  • Social media liking and sharing

  • Proof reading

  • Petition signing

  • Completing surveys

  • Undertaking personal fundraising (such as a sponsored walk)

  • Leaflet distribution

  • Event support

  • Voting or nominating

How can I recruit for microvolunteer support?

When listing roles on Go Volunteer Glos, select the “Microvolunteering” tag to enable potential volunteers to easily find your opportunities.

One of the benefits of microvolunteering is that volunteers don’t necessarily need to live locally, giving you an even bigger pool to recruit from!
