Announcing: The Inclusive Gloucestershire Pledge
The Inclusive Gloucestershire Pledge is a collaborative countywide initiative bringing together VCSE organisations to demonstrate a shared commitment to creating more inclusive, welcoming, and accessible communities across Gloucestershire.
Launching during National Inclusion Week 2026 (14 - 20 September), the campaign encourages organisations to make practical and visible commitments that strengthen inclusion, belonging, representation, and accessibility within their workplaces, services, volunteering opportunities, and community engagement.
The campaign is designed to move inclusion beyond conversation and into meaningful action.
About the Inclusive Gloucestershire Pledge Campaign

Encouraging fair and inclusive recruitment and volunteering opportunities
Improving accessibility across services, communication, and activities

The full wording of the pledge is:
As part of National Inclusion Week 2026, we are proud to stand together with organisations across Gloucestershire to promote inclusion, belonging, and opportunity for everyone in our communities.
We recognise that inclusion is not simply about representation, it is about creating environments where people feel welcomed, respected, valued, heard, and able to participate fully regardless of background, identity, age, ability, or lived experience.
By signing this pledge, we commit to taking positive steps to strengthen inclusion within our organisation by:
Encouraging fair and inclusive recruitment and volunteering opportunities
Improving accessibility across our services, communication, and activities
Listening to the voices and experiences of our communities
Promoting diverse leadership and encouraging wider participation in decision-making
Creating welcoming spaces where staff, volunteers, trustees, and community members feel they belong
We understand that inclusion is an ongoing journey of learning, reflection, and action. Together, we can build stronger, kinder, and more connected communities where every voice matters and everyone can contribute and thrive.
