Part of the Trustee Masterclass series.
Charity boards are operating in an increasingly complex and uncertain environment. As pressures grow and change accelerates, how can chairs ensure their organisations are prepared not just to survive, but to adapt and thrive?
Being a trustee today requires more than oversight and good governance: it calls for adaptive leadership. But what does adaptive leadership actually mean in practice, and how can chairs apply it effectively within their organisations?
This workshop explores the concept of adaptive leadership and why it matters for charity boards. We’ll examine the current challenges facing the voluntary sector, reflect on lessons learned from recent periods of rapid change, and consider how trustees can respond strategically to shifting demands, financial pressures and evolving community needs.
Participants will gain insights and practical approaches to help their boards think differently, remain resilient and lead confidently through uncertainty.
The workshop is designed for chairs who want to strengthen their strategic leadership. However, other trustees and other kinds of board and committee members from third sector organisations are also welcome.
The session will be delivered by Penny Wilson, an expert in governance and trustee development.
